PickLatch Pickup Scanner helps Shopify merchants verify and complete local pickup orders. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how that information is used, and how it is protected.
Information the app accesses
PickLatch Pickup Scanner accesses only the Shopify data needed to provide its pickup workflow. This may include:
- Shop and app authentication information
- Shopify order numbers
- Payment and fulfillment status
- Order totals
- Line items and quantities
- Fulfillment orders and delivery method information
PickLatch Pickup Scanner does not request protected customer fields such as customer name, email address, phone number, billing address, or shipping address.
How information is used
The information accessed by PickLatch Pickup Scanner is used to:
- Find Shopify orders entered or scanned by merchant staff
- Verify whether an order is eligible for local pickup
- Display order, item, payment, and fulfillment information
- Complete eligible pickup fulfillment
- Prevent duplicate fulfillment or handoff of canceled, refunded, completed, or non-pickup orders
- Operate, secure, and maintain the app
Data storage and retention
Order and fulfillment information is retrieved from Shopify as needed to perform the requested pickup workflow. PickLatch Pickup Scanner does not intentionally maintain long-term copies of customer order content in its application database.
Authentication and session information may be stored for as long as necessary to keep the app securely connected to a merchant's Shopify store and to operate the service.
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, meet security requirements, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Sharing of information
PickLatch Pickup Scanner does not sell customer or merchant data and does not use Shopify data for advertising.
Information may be processed by service providers used to host and operate the app, or by Shopify as necessary to provide the Shopify platform and API services.
Security
PickLatch Pickup Scanner uses reasonable technical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections for data in transit and security controls provided by its hosting and database infrastructure.
Shopify privacy requests
PickLatch Pickup Scanner supports Shopify's mandatory privacy and compliance webhooks for customer data requests, customer data deletion requests, and shop data deletion requests.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or operating practices. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
